Came here for dinner with my family over the holidays in December 2014. At first glance, the restaurant looked great. The space is well decorated with a nice bar as you walk in and has an overall good ambiance. They have an outdoor patio with seating as well. The food overall was fine. The pizza was pretty good but nothing special. Anthony's Coal Fire Pizza nearby is much better. The mussels were chewy and below average. The service was quite possibly the worst I have ever experienced. They brought 1 of 5 appetizers out and the rest of the appetizers came out with the entrees (salads came out with pizzas). The mussels came out cold. They brought us the wrong pizza and when we told them, 5 minutes later they brought out the same incorrect pizza. Ultimately we cancelled the pizza. To further my point - the table directly next to us was waiting for one of of their entrees for 10 minutes after the rest of the entrees came out. To top it all off, we witnessed ~5 separate waiters drop and break plates throughout the restaurant over the course of the meal. Half of our party left without really eating and the remainder left quite unsatisfied and utterly put off by the service. O yea, my brother ordered the fries and he said those were solid. Don't dine here until they upgrade the service.

not ready for prime time? lots of potential as it has interesting menu & looks fantastic food: half the group loved it ( the pizza) // the others found it "nothing special" for the other entrees. atmosphere: noise levels in the outside enclosed patio were too much for me, but not as much of an issue with the others in the group. service: needs help -- seems like waiters and manager were all rushing around but not with success ( chaos comes to mind , as the manager was fixing complaints on all sides) -- Doesn't appear much progress since Brian's post of nov 13; but still early?

Excellent food, Excellent service! I've been here several times and the experience has always been terrific! I highly recommend this place...try the eggplant rolletini and the meatballs too! Delicious!

Our 1st visit. We were told of a new chef. We started with Tapas, Veal meatballs, eggpant parm and stuffed art. We were in love from the first bite. Everything was amazing. Then the main meal..chicken cachit, bolongnese. Best bolongnese I ever had...and I've been to the best restaurants. This place is a gem. Don't let the new chef go.

We frequent this restaurant regularly and will continue to do so. The food is always excellent. We took friends from Connecticut there last night and they loved it as well. Our waiter, Evan, made sure everything was perfect. The Manager, John, is a professional, always makes himself available and works hard to ensure you are happy with your experience.

Fantastic food. From the bread to the pizza, it felt gourmet and sophisticated. Decent service, no one wowed me but still good. Quite pricy, but if you can afford it, its definitely fine dining. 3 stars.

This place was not as we expected. Due to dietary restrictions, one of us could not have cheese. When we asked our waiter if we could have the eggplant parmesian without cheese we were told that it was not possible as all of the items are pre-made. When asked if we could have a side of eggplant, we were also told that it is not possible since all of it is pre-made. We had to settle on a salad (tiny portions) since there was nothing else on the menu that could be prepared without cheese. What kind of genuine Italian restaurant pre-makes all of their items? It was not even possible to add black beans to the salad, even though black beans comes on another salad! We were extremely dissapointed. Lets just say, we will not be returning. UPDATE: D'Angelo reached out to me and we had a phone conversation in which they apologized and explained they were undergoing some changes. They appreciated my feedback. They provided me with a generous gift card and promised my second time eating there would be much more accommodating. I will give it another shot sometime. For this reason I changed my rating from a 1 to a 3.

This place hums like a Swiss watch now and the food, which was excellent to begin with is now complimented by great service and a great bar. Wonderful fresh gelato. You can come just for that. Take out in the back of the restaurant is easy but needs a parking space. Parking at night is valet. Beats the barn doors off of Henrys, which was the only decent restaurant up this way at night for some time. The crowd here is better too. Many of them are breathing, and there are no walker parking zones or oxygen tents like Henrrys...

I've been here now about 6-8 times and I just love it. I'm usually by myself so I sit at the bar, but I recently had some people in from out of town and sat at a table. Love the atmosphere and decor. All my experiences have been excellent for both food and service. I will continue to go here regularly.

How to start We arrived a little after 5 and were seated immediately after our arrival. (This May have been due o our reservation lol) I have been to hundreds of restaurants in my life but dangelos decor remains one of the cleanest and well put together I have seen awhile The service was amazing our waiter Guillermo was a jolly old soul and more than helpful recommending the perfect wines to match our meal. We started with some tapas including a heavenly saffron rice ball and succulent turkey meatballs. This was followed by some salads. Our entrees arrived piping hot and were definitely a spectacle to behold. The calzonis were light and fluffy and were paired with a smooth red sauce. Meanwhile the seafood lasagna was very rich and creamy and truly one of the best I have had in quite awhile. We cleansed our palettes with warm apple tarts with cinnamon gelato which I would recommend to anyone within my immediate family Overall with the exception of dunkin donuts this is my new go to business casual eatery. My thanks to the chef

Chef Peter Masiello does a great job there. My husband and I had dinner last week and besides the good service, we had great food! The appetizer was really good and we shared a lamb shank that it was exceptional ! Congrats Angelo and Peter!

Sorry, but.. my husband and I cannot understand the great reviews, Pretty place, lovely decor, who cares. Where's the food? Had high expectations. We are foodies and I cook. So If I can make it better at home why go to a restaurant and over spend for pizza. Definitely over priced. I so wanted to find some really really good pizza. Not here, didn't happen. The crust was good on the tuna pizza, crispy the way we like it but not enough cheese, there was only a smidgen,of sauce, ergo not enough flavor. The porcini mushroom pizza again not enough flavor, didn't taste like anything at all. . I have eaten ordinary plain pizza in the Bronx that was so full of flavor and each mouthful was a party. Not here. Next- Not good beef carpaccio, no dressing barely any oil, totally tasteless. It was sad. It should have some form of vinegrette, capers, lemon, vinegar some delicious olive oil, something. The chef would do well to look any number of beef carpaccio recipes on the net, they all look scrumptious. We had the chopped kale salad, that was decent, no complaints. Won't be going back.

We made reservation on sat nite only available 9 : p m . Ate dinner outside atmosphere appeared to be very nice. Then to our side was a birthday table of 27 people mostly 10 yrs old & younger incl. babies , more kids than adults. out late on Saturday night !! ( 10-11 pm ). The group was noisy and kids were running all over the back of dining area. They were slamming the back door and extremely noisy . And here we are a table of 4 adults out on a sat night. Service was horrible . Waitress told us not to order something on the menu that we wanted . Three servers told us to complain. Manager was called out and did nothing to accommodate the situation . Could not care . Did not Show any empathy to our situation . Evidently the other table was the priority . The manager did not ask us how our dinner was or anything . Bottom line is that we will not be back , they offered us a token discount but that was not acceptable . And the manager would not show his face after we called him to our table .

Was there for early appetizers and wine sat at the bar appetizers were good. The only thing there was a barmaid trying to listen to our conversation all the time very unprofessional and annoying. Will have second thoughts about going back.

Very cool place to sit down and grab dinner/drinks with a group. The food (white pizza/gnocchi) was ok, but nothing great. Really like the places vibe & style. This review is leaning towards 3.5 stars because I'd like to experience a few more items on the menu.

Great atmosphere. Sat outside. Service was good. Portions are generous even though labeled tapas. I enjoyed the Lobster Bisque. A huge bowl with lots of lobster. I will certainly return to try more tapas. Good value as well.

Great atmosphere, place was buzzing.Easy menu to order from, yet plenty of choices. I'm pretty picky and there was a lot for me to choose from.Waiter was totally on point. This could definitely become one our regular spots.

The restaurant was busy and buzzing. I had the lamb chop special and my husband had the scallop and shrimp special. The food was nicely presented, hot and tasty. The server did not tell us about the specials and was a little harried but we were by the board so perhaps he did not feel the need! Service was good. A little quick for dining but for a local would definitely return.

Called earlier in the day asking for a 6:15 reservation and was told that I didn't need one...that they would squeeze me in...no problem. Well, 6:15 came around and I was told that there was a 25 minute wait. And they didn't accept reservations for 2 people anyway. Bad communication with front staff

I have eaten in D'Angelo's 3 times in 2 weeks. The restaurant has wonderful outside seating and is very modern and sleek. The problem is the food. I have ordered 5 of the tapas dishes on the 3 occasions and each time was worse than the time before. The pizza is flavorless, terrible crust, bad texture, burnt, with a " canned" tasting unseasoned sauce. The calamari is awful, soggy and uneventful, the rice balls are completely lackluster and I personally couldn't even eat it. The meatballs were flavorless and mushy. The spicy oil had no spice. The waitress, whom I unfortunately had 2 nights in a row should win the worst waitress award. She neglected to give us plates! She never checked back till we needed a check. She had no smile. I personally think this one is an avoid!

Just wanted to update my review of D'Angelo's Restaurant, which I revisted approx two weeks ago with several friends and I must say, the service, food and selections were far superior to my first visit there. This time around not only were the Gnocchi vailable and but were superb, they literally melted in one's mouth. Others in my crowd were equally impressed with the seafood dishes (Scallops in particular) and raved about the taste of their dishes. Our waiter Jeremy was very attentive and did a fine job of servicing our table. It was a complete turn around from our fist time there when a lot of bugs had to be worked out. Today, I would recommend it to the most discriminating taste buds. Enjoy!

I had the most wonderful expereince here with my mom! They have an ENTIRE menu devoted to white pizza (my abosolute favorite). We split a bianco pizza with fresh mozzarella, ricotta, and sauteed spinach...delicious! I had beef carpacio, which was scrumptious and my mom had the octopus seafood salad. She also ordered fontina polenta which she could not stop raving about. Bear in the mine, the portions are quite generous for tapas. Later on in the meal Mr. D'angelo even stopped buy at our table to make sure everything was going well! I really enjoyed this meal and the creative take on italian food.

Looking for a place after an evening movie at the Morikami and discovered this place...It was late so it was quiet...We ordered the Tapas expecting the usual small plates...these are NOT small plates. The Fritto misto was very good, not overcooked and lightly dusted. The clams and mussels were so good my guy wanted to take the remaining sauce home but decided to soak it up with the bread. The polenta was okay..had a distinctive but barely discernible flavor, maybe truffle? We really enjoyed our meal and plan to go back to try a dinner..

The key factors to excellent Italian food are: 1. Freshness of all ingredients 2. Simple recipes I don't think you can find an Italian restaurant in west Delray that lives by these two golden rules except Angelo's. If you don't love this place you are not real Italian, as it doesn't get much better unless you are in Italy. I eat here quite often and have never been disappointed in anything - the food, the service, and the prices ...always on the mark. Also offers a very nice outdoor alfresco dining room. Nice for a date or just a casual dinner with good friends. The Tapas menu offers quite a variety of tastings and can be a nice share meal with great variety.

Really great for the area. There's a lot of crap food and crap service in Del Ray. D'Angelo serves up really quality, well seasoned, well prepared food. Pizza, gnocchi, tiramisu, espresso, all were excellent! Hope to be back next time we visit the area.

Amazing!!! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the manager who was very cordial. We were seated to our table and immediately greeted by our server, Joe. He was friendly, professional and attentive. Joe explained how they recently changed their menu and recommended the calamari for starters... we took his advice as an appetizer as well as the braised short ribs for an entrée both were the best we ever had :) He suggested an excellent wine pairing that made the dinner that much better.. as if that was even possible. Joe was awesome! So glad we found this restaurant and we will definitely be back with our friends!!! If you are reading this... be sure to ask for Joe :)

We have been to lunch twice here and like the food. Classy atmosphere that seems to attract groups of older women dressed to the hilt in the middle of the day. Stepford wives immediately comes to mind. Lunch here is about $12 and is of good value. Pasta fagioli soup was excellent. Nice sized portion served in an enormous bowl. The spaghetti and meatballs were also very good consisting of two large meat portions that were a meal in themselves. Pizza looked great but tasted too salty and had an overly tart sauce. Service was excellent. My main criticism is the limited menu for lunch. Would like to see more chicken and eggplant dishes.

I'm being generous. I had a reservation for 8 people, we sat outside on the patio. Unfortunately our waiter also had a table of 14 and another table of 8. It took 15 minutes to get water and our drink order taken. We asked the waiter for separate checks, but he informed us that he was much too busy to do that. 1 hr 20 minutes later we were served dinner. Never asked if we needed another drink, how was our food, is there anything else we needed. Actually we never really saw him again until he delivered our check. I have eaten here once before for lunch, inside, terrific....dinner outside horrible, there was nothing good I could say, including the food...veal he no taste at all and salad was all vinegar

If you want to know what it is like to eat in Italy, but don't want the hassle and expense of flying there just for a great meal, then save yourself a lot of time and money and just visit D'Angelo and place an order for anything on the menu or special board. Yes, this place is the real deal and the food, service, and ambiance are authentic. They even have "Tastes of Italy" playing on a continuous loop on the flat screes around the restaurant. The bar and drinks are awesome, the decor is stunning, the service is always top notch, some of the employees actually speak Italian, the outside dining options are really pleasant when the weather is nice, the chairs are comfortable, the menu is tapas style and there are tons of options. I have been here about five times and have tried many of the items and am always pleased. The Veal & Pecorino Meatballs tomato braised are super moist and are super tasty (much better than the Meatball Room down the street). The Calamari and Shrimp are fresh and tasty. The Pizza is fantastic made in the wood fire oven and I have tried several varieties such as the shrimp, pepperoni, and cheese and they are all extremely good. The Panni sandwiches are really good for lunch and with the fries, make for a filling meal. The lasagna is excellent, the spagetti and meatballs are outstanding, and I am forgetting about the specials that change often, and I would reccomend checking them out. *** Make sure to save room for Desert *** Specifically make sure your try the gelato as the quality and taste is nothing short of pure Italy in a cup, in fact the gelato is so good, that I have come here just for desert after eating at another restaurant. Ciao!

Great apps- had the meatballs, sausage, and mussels. Entrée's - Rigatoni Bolognese, Shrimp Parmesan, Spaghetti....all were great, priced right, snappy service... We love this place.

Food is much improved from when they opened and the outside seating area is really cute. A very large portion of their menu is taken up by pizza and calzones, which are OK but a little pricey, and not as good as other high-end pizza you can get in Delray. Service is not bad, but it is very informal. Maybe it is because the vast majority of the clientele are senior citizens, but all of our servers we've ever had were really informal with us and spoke to us like we were just hanging out. Also, the diners here can be really rude and nasty, which isn't the restaurant's fault, but still a little disheartening. We had come here before for lunch, but this was our first dinner there, and we were very annoyed that they blocked off all of the parking spots up front for valet. If you want to self park, you need to fight for limited spots in the back, which is poorly lighted and smelly from all the garbage.

We had a charity event at D'Angelo today. The food was great, the service was superior,. Not one complaint from 90 women. Now that is an accomplishment. Thank you to John and all his staff.

I'm giving this place one star and if I could give it zero I would. Our server JD or JP, whatever her name was, was so awful that our entire dining experience was ruined. It started with her coughing as she came to our table-all over herself (and the table) apologizing and blaming it on "allergies". I ordered for myself and my two children, then my husband ordered. As she was reading back the order, I was mostly focused on my children and then we corrected her as she had my husbands order incorrect; she mistook the montepulciano wine for a montepulciano pizza (I don't believe that there is a pizza with that name on the menu). Apparently, it was MY fault for failing to notice that she didn't mention my gnocchi, especially after all of the other mistakes she made when she read back our order. After about 15 minutes she came back to our table with a menu and asked how she should "ring" in my daughters order (a calzone with pepperoni) as there isn't a pepperoni calzone on the menu. I told her I wasn't sure but she could charge us for the most expensive calzone, $16 dollars. She kept insisting that, that wasn't it, I didn't understand, she wasn't sure HOW to ring it in. After holding her hand through the process, we as a team decided that she should ring it as a calzone, no broccolini, sub the sausage for pepperoni. Very difficult. After that was settled we reminded her that my husband STILL did not have his wine, oops, she forgot. Next thing I know I see one of the servers bleeding from his mouth, holding a napkin to it, blood is all over his shirt, telling a manager to bring something over to table number 10. A few minutes later, that same server is back on the floor dressed in his same shirt and a new white napkin covering his blood stains. I literally gagged. Our food finally comes and our server looks at us and asks if she can bring anything else. I smile and say my gnocchi? She gasps and said she forgot to ring it in, oh no, she didn't even write it down. NBD she will put it in right away. Great! She comes back and reprimands me because when she read back the order for the table, I failed to notice that she didn't repeat it back. I feel like now is a good time to mention that we had a full minute or so long conversation about how they changed the gnocchi from before and how it's better now than it ever was. She convinced me to get it! I truly think she's nuts at this point, but it doesn't stop there-she rings it in, tells me she "rushed" it and then reprimands me again about how she read the order back, it's my fault that she didn't write down my order. My family finishes eating and my food comes where she tells me AGAIN how it was my fault that she forgot to write my order down. Seriously? I don't finish my food, I take my kids outside because we are now going on an hour and a half of this disaster. My husband gets the bill and is shocked that the gnocchi is on there. The manager isn't apologetic, our waitress is now arguing with the manager directly behind my husband. The manager did eventually take the gnocchi off but my poor husband had to sit there as the waitress was STILL arguing that it was my fault. The food was ok, service was a zero. I doubt we will return.

Stopped in with a party of four around 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon. The place has an upscale, modern decor, and a nice climate controlled enclosed outdoor patio. Had the veal meatballs as an appetizer. These were light, tender, and flavorful. Also had the Angelo's Burger, which was actually the best burger I've had (locally) in quite a while. The beef was perfectly done, and had a course grind with very good texture. The fried egg on top was fried to perfection with a runny yolk, and crisp edges. Very unexpected attention to detail for an item that is not at the center of the menu. My kids had a calzone, which had a crispy crust, and was packed with cheese and spicy Calabrese salami. Service was prompt, and the waiter very attentive. Too stuffed to try the desserts, but you can bet we'll be back!

This place is fantastic! There are many small plate/appetizers that you can order to share. We started with the arancini - which were amazing. We then ordered the pizza. Having just moved to FL from the Northeast I can say that I wasn't sure what I was getting into - but I'm glad I ordered it because it was wonderful. There is a large outdoor patio that is air-conditioned and has really cool looking large ceiling fans. Their gelato selection is very nice to both look at through the display and delicious. I'll be back again!

There are certain standards that should be expected when dining out. Nice service, good food, pleasant atmosphere. That deserves stars. However sometimes you get lucky and wonderful customer service makes even the delicious food, atmosphere, etc. even better. I wish I could award an extra star for the extra effort Kelly, our hostess, showed our party when our reservation wasn't quite what we wanted. It was friendly, kind, easy and met our large parties' needs. We had a wonderful experience and will be at the restaurant again soon.

We have been to D'Angelos several times now and it is always first class. The place is always very busy (packed) and the staff and service have always been very good! We have have experienced many items from the menu and the food is incredible! They have great pizzas, paninis, and pasta using the best ingredients. The atmosphere is good and can sometimes get a little loud. We will continue to be regulars!!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
